NF1-Neurofibromatosis type 1

Neurofibromatosis type 1 is a hereditary disorder, that affects 1 in 4,000 people. A member of my family was born with it, a very bad case of it. It involves the nervous system, the skin and bones of the body. The most distinctive features of Neurofibromatosis, is brown spots called 'cafe au-lait' spots. NF1 can also affect nerves throughout the body, including in the brain and spinal cord. There can also be pink, raised spots called 'button-holes'. These marks are found all over the body.

My sibling has thousands of all different kinds of markings all over the body. Most of them are on the torso. They say in some occasions, a person with NF1 can go mental because it affects the brain, however, my sibling is fine at the moment anyway! Although there is a few things she cannot do because of the disorder, including taking some medications, being out in the sun, and being in the water too long.

Anyway, maybe someone out there has markings like this, and has never done anything about it, so maybe you should contact your doctor, as this is a disorder that must be monitored.

Sharkey and George!

What ever happened to the cartoon 'Sharkey and George'! It was one of the best cartoons shown on T.V ever! They were the crime busters of the sea for pete's sake. Why did they stop showing it?!?

Did you know the show was originally French? 'Sharkey et Georges'

It was a cartoon consisting of a shark and a fish, who were detectives, solving all crimes around them. The theme tune is brilliant! It's famous!

'There is currently a petition going on at SharkyandGeorge.com to bring the show to DVD. When the petition has 5,000 signatures they are going to contact the creators CinéGroupe. As of September 10th 2007, the petition has just below 2,000 signatures.'(Wikipedia.com)

Here is an episode of the classic cartoon...

'Coke'---Not Just a Soft Drink!

Left--- Cocaine Molecule

Everybody has heard of the hard drug Cocaine. Cocaine is a crystalline tropane alkaloid that is obtained from the leaves of the South American shrub Erythroxylon coca.
The name comes from "coca" in addition to the alkaloid suffix -ine, forming cocaine.Wikipedia.com

Well, today, it's as easy to buy a bag of cocaine, as it is to buy a can of coke. Outrageous!

Ever since model 'Kate Moss' was caught on tape snorting cocaine, everyone seems to be taking the addictive drug.
She has made it somewhat 'Cool'!

Kate Moss Cocaine Tape

Posted Oct 03, 2005

Kate Moss is busted on tape when she busts out a few lines of somethin' somethin'. Allegedly.

I have been to many parties in the past year, that I personally have seen people snorting cocaine. It's crazy. The toilets do be jam packed with people taking the stuff. I have even seen people taking it in broad daylight on the street! It's everywhere! They think it's ok to do it, and that it's harmless. They're attitude is 'Oh well, if Kate Moss lived, so will I'.

Cocaine can be bought off the street from the average 'Joe' these days. It has become so popular, I think it has knocked 'Hash' Off the number one drug spot. I see and am ashamed to say know more people who snort cocaine than smoke Hash. Ecstacy used to be a lot more popular than cocaine and other drugs, but in the past 2-3 years the usage has died down a bit when which cocaine has rocketed!

People don't understand the dangers of cocaine.

After the 'High' you get, you experience a 'Low', which leads to a number of effects such as:

  • Depression or paranoia

  • Sleeping difficulties

  • Anxiety, Panic

  • tired and irritable

And in some cases, Sudden Adult Death, which happens on or after the FIRST taking of the drug.

So if you are stupidly considering taking Cocaine, thinking 'Ah well once can't do me much harm', just remember you could be dead before tomorrow...
